What is Meth

Methamphetamine, also known as meth, speed, crank, and crystal meth, is a central nervous system stimulant of the amphetamine family. It is a powerful upper that produces many "super" feelings along with a variety of adverse reactions. How Meth Is Made

There are a couple ways of making meth and many ingredients are used. Most of the ingredients for making meth can be found in our homes. And handling these toxic ingredients, as well as mixing them, is very hazardous to our health as well as it is very hazardous the environment.

Meth is made from a very easy recipe and can be cooked and ready in 6 to 8 hours in a mobile meth lab where the cookware can be relocated to avoid detection of any fumes or vapors that are associated with the making of meth. It costs about $140 to make one ounce of meth and can be sold for as much as $1200.

 

How Meth is Used

There are many ways that meth can be used. It can be swallowed by putting it in empty gelatin capsules, mix it into water, or add it to coffee. Meth can be chopped into a fine powder and snorted into the nose with a straw. Smoked in a glass pipe, light bulb, or on aluminum foil. Injected into a vain with a hypodermic needle, which increases the chance of addiction, as the effects are faster and more intense. In all forms, meth stimulates the central nervous system, with effects lasting anywhere from four to 24 hours. Meth use can not only modify behavior in an acute state, but after taking it for a long time, the drug literally changes the brain in fundamental and long-lasting ways. It kills by causing heart failure (myocardial infarction), brain damage, and stroke and it induces extreme, acute psychiatric and psychological symptoms that may lead to suicide or murder.
